50 Cent To Drop 65 Pounds For “Things Fall Apart” Flick

50 Cent and Cheetah Vision Films partner Randall Emmett have unveiled plans for their next film, Things Fall Apart, in which 50 will star, based on a script he wrote with Brian Miller. Directed by Mario Van Peebles, the film is about a senior college football player who becomes involved in a personal tragedy and comes to grips with his own mortality. The film also stars Van Peebles, Lynn Whitfield, Mike P, and Steve Eastin.
50 will reportedly drop 65 pounds for the role and feels that movies are a better outlet for his creativity than music. “You have 90 minutes and 120 pages, compared with three minutes for a song,” he told Variety. “I’ve become very passionate about making films.”
This will follow Cheetah Vision’s other recently wrapped project, The Gun, starring 50 Cent, Val Kilmber, and AnnaLynne McCord. The company plans to release three to five films per year.
