Rhymefest spoke with The Pulse about the recent comments made by Waka Flocka Flame in regards to lyrical rappers being broke. “Man, you sitting up on the most lyrical rapper’s radio station saying that…. For anybody that wants to say lyrical rappers are broke, Immortal Technique got more money than most of ya’ll. Just because he doesn’t wear his money on his neck doesn’t mean anything. We have to be more business saavy,” said ‘Fest. “The best rappers in the game right now are lyrical. Even Jeezy is more lyrical than he used to be…Lil’ Wayne didn’t get popular until he got lyrical….Lyrics count, and we gotta stop acting like they don’t and making excuses for being weak,” he added.

Rhymefest also spoke about his upcoming album, El Che, dropping May 18th, as well as why he chose not to work with artists like Kanye West or Mark Ronson this time around. Check out the full interview above.
