A Def Jam press release this morning revealed some interesting details on Curren$y’s long awaited Pilot Talk debut. The release states that the album is “set for release in June” and will be “produced (entirely?) by Ski Beatz”. We dig a little deeper inside Universal’s retail database to find an official street date – the only thing that came up was a single for “King Kong”, so we’re guessing they will skip the busy June / July season and head straight for August. Meanwhile, the press release also states: “Curren$y has risen from the streets of Crescent City as the first artist to be released on Damon Dash’s new media enterprise DD172 Records, distributed through Island Def Jam Music Group.” No mention of a Roc-A-Fella resurfacing here.
