Eminem Sells 741,000 Copies Of “Recovery” First Week

Eminem’s Recovery album title may have a deeper meaning than we all knew – he’s helped the troubling music industry bounce back from one of it’s worst periods ever. Recovery sold 741,000 copies in it’s first seven days, shattering a previous first week sales record held by AC/DC with the 2008 release Black Ice.
Recovery outsold Em’s last LP, 2009′s Relapse, which debuted at 608,000 copies, and Curtain Call: The Hits, which debuted with 441,000 in 2005. And at 255,000 digital LP’s sold, he nearly missed Coldplay’s highest digital sales first week for their 2008 Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends LP, which sold 288,000 the first week.
