Q-Tip recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about his plans for 2011. He will begin working on his next solo LP, The Last Zulu, in February, expecting to see it released by the end of the year or early 2012. He also plans to release the album in three different language versions, English, Spanish and French.

“I feel like my fans have been so gracious over the years,” Q-Tip says. “They’re so smart that I want to extend the grace back to them and speak to them in their tongues. I’m going to have to brush up!”

“It’s going to take us back to the days of when it was breakbeats, when [Grandmaster] Flash and [Afrika] Bambaataa was throwing on them hard beats. It’s going to have a lot of that energy, and it’s going to feel really big and anthemic. It’s going to be unlike anything I’ve done before.”

He also has appeared on the upcoming LP’s for Esperanza Spalding, who just was nominated for Best New Artist Grammy, as well as producing a beat on Drake’s follow-up LP, Take Care. “He told me it’s incredible. I’m going to take his word for it.”

In other news, Tip will work on the new LP’s for Santigold, Roc Marciano, and possibly even Jay-Z and Kanye’s Watch The Throne.
