G. Dep Pleads Not Guilty To 1993 Murder He Confessed To

The Wall Street Journal reports that G. Dep appeared in court this morning pleading not guilty to the shooting of John Henkel on Oct. 19, 1993, a crime to which he confessed to, turning himself into police last month.
His lawyer, Anthony Rico said the not guilty plea was more of a “procedural step” to figure out exactly what happened the night of the shooting, and whether or not drug use had anything to do with the confession.
“We want to make sure what we’re dealing with the reality of what actually happened that night,” suggesting G. Dep’s history with PCP may have altered the validity of the confession.
Dep’s lawyer suggested that his guilty conscious ultimately forced him to come forward, as he “had been haunted by this” and the case “would’ve stayed cold forever”.
“Some will call what he did stupid, but I think he’s doing it to get things right between himself and God,” he said.
