Class is now in session with Film School With R.A. The Rugged Man, a must-see new web series from MTV’s Film.com hosted by rapper/film historian R.A. The Rugged Man. “I’ve wrote and produced full length features, was a film columnist for Mass Appeal Magazine for 5 years, and wrote movie articles for Vibe, The Source, Complex and others,” says the Rugged Man. “Basically I’m just a total geek when it comes to cinema.” Shot at R.A.’s apartment, where DVDs line the walls from floor to ceiling, Film School takes you into the vaults of classic Hollywood, as R.A. waxes poetic on everything from campy horror to film noir to Blaxploitation cinema and beyond. You may not get a degree here, but you will get schooled. “I’ll be dropping cinematic jewels on people every two weeks,” explains R.A. “The first episode is just an introduction but we’re about to get crazy with it.” Check out the first episode at the link above.

Film.com, one of the web’s most respected movie brands, serves a passionate audience of film fans. Film.com delivers extensive coverage of movies and the people who make them, including stars, directors, writers and more. The site, which was recently acquired by MTV’s NextMovie, embraces the full range of film, from blockbusters to indies, from festivals to awards shows and everything in between.

R.A.’s new album Legends Never Die is due out later this year on Nature Sounds.
