For three years running, Fool’s Gold Records’ epic DAY OFF party has been THE most talked about free music event in New York. The Labor Day extravaganza has featured the likes of Juicy J, A$AP Rocky, Just Blaze, Araabmuzik and the late, great DJ Mehdi. This year’s party was raved about by the New York Times, the Village Voice, Pitchfork and countless others. So it’s only right that the label transports their hometown insanity to the West Coast for the first-ever Los Angeles DAY OFF on Sunday, October 7th.
Highlights of Cali’s inaugural DAY OFF lineup include performances from FG capo A-Trak and the label’s reigning rap hero Danny Brown, a special DJ set from world class funksters Chromeo, longtime homies and 808 kings the Cool Kids, LA favorite Casey Veggies, and many more of the label’s luminary artists, including Congorock, Oliver, Donnis, Kingdom, Nick Catchdubs, and special guests. You do not want to miss this one!
Employing the same outside-the-box thinking, A-Trak is announcing a series of Fool’s Gold House Party shows at houses and DIY venues across the country throughout October, the exact whereabouts of which will remain a secret until the week of the event. Fans sign up to receive the location announcement via email. A-Trak will be joined by the label’s party kings Flosstradamus and Donnis, and the whole hootenanny will be documented by Noisey. A-Trak explains, “I spend my year playing big clubs and festival stages, why not house it up… literally? Hide your mom’s vase collection.”
