Working as the b-side to “Cold As Ice” (excellent choice for a third single), but I don’t know about this one. I loved the original “Ante Up”, but the “Ante Up (Remix)” is just kind of sloppily thrown together. The appearance from Busta Rhymes literally ups the ante (pun intended), adding even more energy to this already nutso track, but it falls flat on its face when Teflon and Remy Martin take over. In my opinion, when a song like “Ante Up” blows up, its remix should celebrate the original, by enlisting hip-hop’s big dogs - and the big dogs only, much like the remix that set this trend off, for “Flavor In Ya Ear”. These kinds of things can be incredible, like the “Simon Says Remix” (w/ Busta, Pharaohe Monch, Method Man & Redman) would have been, if not for out-of-place verses from Shabaam Sahdeeq and Lady Luck. Or how about the “Holla Holla Remix” - fuck The Murderers, it should have just been Ja Rule, Busta and Jay-Z.  Not to go off on a tangent, but “the posse remix” is no place for amateurs, especially if the new emcees aren’t taking it to a higher level than its predecessor.
