Last time Snoop & Jay-Z teamed up we got the stellar “Drop It Like It’s Hot” remix, which truly outdid the original. Honestly, I was never that impressed with Snoop’s jacking of the “It Takes Two” intro for “I Wanna Rock”, and it still gets lukewarm results in the club. However the new Jay-Z verse at the beginning of this remix makes it hotter, as he cleverly name drops Rob Base, E.Z. Rock, Doug E. Fresh, Rae & Ghost, and a sly nod to another recently released rapper/drug dealer (you can listen to the clip for that one). Snoop, on the other hand, lazily rehashes a Rakim verse, so much to the point that the god should get a writing credit. – DJ Pizzo
