First offering from Gorillaz upcoming third LP, Plastic Beach, due out March 9th. Not sure if Danger Mouse is involved this time around, but as usual we get an eclectic mix of legendary artists, this time Mos Def, soul singer Bobby Womack, and of course Damon Albarn. The track is reminiscent of Def’s cover of “Jam On It”, putting him back in rock-shockin’, universal b-boy steez. The end result is an atmospheric slow burner, thanks to Damon’s breezy vocals, much closer to the stuff he recorded for The Good, The Bad, and The Queen than Gorillaz. Think of this as this album’s “Dirty Harry” buzz single, not the next “Feel Good Inc”.
