MTV recently caught up with a Riker’s Island prison guard, who explained the day to day routines that Lil’ Wayne will repeat for the next 365 days, after being arrested on weapons charges.

“He’ll be housed with inmates who are classified in his category, and he’ll be able to be a regular inmate,” the guard said. “He’ll be able to watch television, go into the day room and congregate with people of his classification.”

Because Wayne is a celebrity, he will not be placed among gen-pop, which could obviously cause lots of problems for the prison, the prisoners, and of course Wayne himself. Instead, he will be placed in a separate wing of the house of pain.

“It’s a high-class area where he will be segregated from [the general] population,” the guard explained.

His business partner, Birdman, will be able to visit him twice a week. Riker’s Island was also one-time home to 2Pac, Foxy Brown, and Sid Vicious.
