As the release date for his fourth LP R.E.D. approaches, Game is taking an unconventional approach to promotion. That is, he’s not doing any.

“I’m not into promoting. I give you a date and if you’re a Game fan, then you’ll get the album,” he said. “I don’t sell myself. This is my fourth album. I don’t think I need to do all that.”

With that said,Game’s management tells a different story.Game’s product manager, Andrew Flad, recently said promoting the album is “imperative.” “Sending Game out to touch the fans this way is a must and always helps,” Flad says. “He will grind it out, he will do the work, and he will love it.”

Game will spend some time making radio stops in SoCal before heading to Europe for more radio promo and performances. He will then return to the East Coast and then over to the Midwest for more promotion.Game also has tentative dates for appearances on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “Lopez Tonight.”

So much for no promotion. R.E.D. drops July 6th on Interscope Records.
