Outkast Idlewild Flask (2005)

With Big Boi’s album hitting this week, we decided to take a look back at this 2005 promo item from the Outkast film / soundtrack Idlewild, which also introduced the world to Janelle Monae.

The 6oz stainless steel Idlewild flask came in a classy gift-box, and was given out to cast and crewmembers that worked on the Outkast film/musical. The significance of the flask is that in the film, it talks to Rooster (played by Big Boi), telling him to do things he wouldn’t normally do – just like a real flask. At the end of the film, Rooster tosses the flask out the window.
