The good Dr. spoke with EW today at his Beats By Dre headphones event, which he hosted with Jimmy Iovine. With Jimmy taking a seat on the judges panel this year, Dre was asked if he was interested in working with American Idol artists in the future.

“You know what? It all depends on the artist, if they turn me on or not. That’s all there is to it,” Dr. Dre told EW. “Of course, they have to have a serious talent,” he adds. “I have to be comfortable vibing with them in the studio. And I really like artists that have a story.”

In other news, Jimmy announced at the conference that we’d be getting “new material” from Dr. Dre in December. It has also been reported that everything that has been leaked from the Detox sessions has been scrapped from the final tracklist. Nice job, cockroaches.
