A study that has been making the rounds on the internet over the last week or so shows that Aesop Rock has the largest vocabulary in hip-hop, at least when paired up against 84 other of the most well known artists in hip-hop history. Coder Matt Daniels created an algorithm to survey the first 35,000 lyrics post for each of the selected 85 rappers on Rap Genius, to figure who used the most unique words and who had the largest vocabulary. The study is a bit skewed, as it includes groups like Mobb Deep and The Wu-Tang Clan, and does not include every rapper ever, but it is in interesting look nonetheless. Yes truly, Aesop Rock wins.
