Yeah, this takes the cake for the freshest piece of hip-hop memorabilia we’ve ever seen. We’re not sure if we are supposed to believe that RZA painted this himself, but each print carries his handprints and signature. There are two versions of the print – the Legacy Series (30 x 40, limited to 300 pieces) [cont.]

On June 30th, E1 Music will release the new album from “Wu-Tang”, entitled “Chamber Music”. That is not to be confused with The Wu-Tang Clan, it’s just labeled as “Wu-Tang”. What does this mean exactly? Lord knows, there have been tons of albums with the Wu insignia on them over the years, some used to [cont.]

It’s funny how things go in cycles. Fifteen years ago, RZA was sampling classic kung fu flicks (The Five Deadly Venoms) and Asian cult cinema (The Killer), and churning out classic records for everyone in the Wu-Tang Clan. Today, RZA is creating the music for an anime series called Afro Samurai, and in turn, releasing [cont.]

From about 93-98, hip-hop was riding high, and Wu-Tang led the charge.  Albums by the Clan, Method Man, Raekwon, GZA, and Ghostface, among others, hit hard with critical and commercial success. However, the Clan as a whole seemed to have fallen off for a few years.  Albums were more dispersed from the crew as a whole [cont.]

Rza’s production triumphs are legendary. From Wu-Tang to various guest tracks, his style is both recognizable and wide-ranging. His latest endeavor, Afro Samurai: The Soundtrack, Rza showcases instrumental tracks, collaborative efforts and epic film scores all in one. Although the music here is predominantly for the Afro Samurai cartoon series, the result is a [cont.]

As the Wu dynasty fades further and further into obscurity, another Wu affiliate emerges to attempt to salvage the name that RZA  and company made famous a decade ago. Never mind the feeble attempts set forth in the past (Killa Beez, Cappadonna, etc) this time the RZA reaches to the opposite coast to nab a [cont.]

When an aging RZA takes a look back his accomplished career, the premier beatsmith/emcee can smile because he knows he is an element of the movement that rejuvenated the east coast and gave birth to one of the greatest groups of all time, the Wu-Tang Clan. He revolutionized production as a whole and became arguably [cont.]

At one point, the RZA was the most consistent producer in the game, with his name being mentioned alongside beatsmiths like DJ Premier and Dr. Dre. But after the Wu mansion flood years back which washed away a ton of beats (not to mention a future). RZA has transformed into the ridiculous Bobby Digital and produced some sub-par (compared [cont.]

After RZA’s disappointing debut, Bobby Digital In Stereo, one would hope that he would retire the “evil twin” character, and bring back the conscious RZA we all knew and loved from 1992 to 1996. But apparently, Robert Diggs still has to get some partying, drug use, and promiscuity out of his system before he can [cont.]
